WESCT praise The Lines Company’s efficient and compassionate response to COVID-19

The Lines Company (TLC) deserves appreciation and praise for the efficient and effective response displayed during the height of the COVID-19 crisis says Peter Keeling, Chair of the Waitomo Energy Services Customer Trust (WESCT).

The move from Alert 2 through to levels 3 and 4 was swift, giving workplaces across the country little time to organise an unfamiliar way of operating and working. TLC were well prepared for the situation and were able to implement their existing pandemic response plan with great efficiency and with minimal disruption to customers.

Over the weeks of lockdown members of the TLC senior leadership team have kept in direct contact with customers through regular appearances on Cruise FM radio and video posts uploaded onto the TLC Facebook page. These measures went a long way towards reassuring customers that their lights were going to stay on throughout the COVID-19 response.

During these times of uncertainty TLC have shown that they were well prepared and that customer needs were factored into their response plan with the decision to waive the variable usage charges for the month of April.

As Trustees we would like to acknowledge the commitment of all TLC staff to providing a top-class service during these unprecedented times. TLC’s response shows solid leadership, good planning and structure, and an understanding of how as a company they can help their customers get through.

On behalf of the trustees and WESCT beneficiaries we thank TLC for your work throughout the COVID-19 response.
